Cyber Bullying

while i was working with Rachel to put together a presentation about cyber bullying i decided to look at articles concerning that issue in particular. i didn’t find many articles that talked about the consequences of cyber bullying instead of face-to-face bullying YET but i know i will if i look harder online (which is what i will be doing when i have some free time). i read an article that talked about bullying and cyber bullying in general and it was interesting to see the statistics of how many people are being bullied (it’s shocking). it seems that cyber bullying has a bigger effect on the victim in my opinion, due to the fact that a wider range of audience is witnessing the bullying happen, which is humiliating and hurtful. I would say that cyber bullying is a very dark side of social media or the internet in general. the anonymity that the internet provides makes it easier for everyone to bully anyone while having the security of keeping their identity anonymous. even though there are many ways to prevent cyber bullying such as supervision, punishment, and policies. i feel like it’s so easy to bully nowadays, all one needs is a laptop or computer and the bullying begins.
